How to motivate our students and our children to study? Studying well doesn’t mean study harder but smarter.
Create a detailed study plan
Structure your study and create an effective and detailed plan of study, and follow it, is crucial to maximise the time you spent studying and make your learning easier.
How to study?
People learn best in different ways. You need to find techniques that work for you, for instance listening, reading, writing what you are reading, studying alone or studying in groups or with a partner. You need to develop good study habits. Do what works best for you.
Tips that will help you
1. Use effective note-taking strategies. Taking meaningful notes will save time when you’re preparing your exams.
2. Have a study routine and sets reasonable targets for each study session.
3. List all subjects you have to study and assess which have the most trouble.
4. Use highlighters! Underline the most important things with different colours for titles, subheadings and so on.
5. Find a good place to study and prepare your study environment. Some people work better when they don’t study always in the same place. Other people need special music or silence.
6. Don't study for too long without a break, avoid the mistake of studying too much! Study in short, frequent sessions that should be no longer than one hour.
7. Avoid studying if you are tired or too stressed. When your brain is more relaxed is easier to memorise data effortlessly.
8. When you learn something new, try to review the same day.
9. Write down everything that you are having difficulties.
10. If your brain forgot some things do not despair! You just need to review again.
11. Drink water while studying: staying hydrated helps your memory.
12. Do not eat badly or unhealthy along the most stressful time of your study. Avoid junk food!
13. Develop mentally ways to manage your stress and anxiety.
I hope that will be helpful!
Goodbye and until next post!
