I just love Palmiers made from puff pastry! The recipe I’m sharing with you here is delicious and you can prepare it quickly at home. It’s really easy to make these Palmiers!
Ingredients
- 1 sheet rectangular puff pastry
- about 1 cup of sugar (add sugar to taste)
- cinnamon sugar (optional)
You can make yourself the puff pastry at home but there’s no need, you can buy it already made.
For the sugar, I prefer coarse-grained sugar but you can use the kind of sugar you like most.
Directions
1. How to fold and shape the Palmiers
- If your puff pastry is frozen, thaw it first in the refrigerator overnight.
- Preheat the oven to 200 degrees C (390 degrees F).
- Spread sugar on the counter and roll out the puff pastry.
- Press softly on the sugar.
- Sprinkle your puff pastry with sugar, over the surface.
- Mark the middle of the pastry.
- Fold right and left sides to the middle.
- Add a little more sugar.
- Then fold the dough in half again lengthwise.
- Fold right and left sides of the dough toward the inside until they meet in the middle. More layers will give the palmiers a more rounded aspect.
- At the end, fold the left side over the right side like closing a book.
- Press the sugar softly into the dough with a rolling pin or with your fingers to help sugar adherence.
- Place the dough on a tray and bring to the freezer for 15 minutes to cool and harden mass a little.
- After 15 minutes, remove from freezer.
- Spread sugar again on the counter and place the dough on it.
- With a sharp knife, slice the dough into individual pieces about 1cm (1/2 inch) thick.
- Dip both sides into the cinnamon sugar (optional).
2. After cutting the Palmiers put them on a tray with parchment paper.
3. Place in the oven preheated to 200° C for 15 minutes (or until they begin to dark golden).
4. Remove from the oven after 15 minutes.
Enjoy your palmiers!

In the video you do not have placed a cup of sugar as you say in the ingredients.
ReplyDeleteHello! The amount of sugar depends on your taste and type of sugar.
